FAQs

Absolutely, You will need to contact your car finance company and request your settlement figure, but once you have this we will pay the finance immediately and pay you the difference if we value your car more than the finance settlement. If the car is valued by us is less than the outstanding settlement amount, you will have to pay us the shortfall first via bank transfer or credit/debit card and then we would settle the finance in full including your contribution.

It’s important to find a company you trust and do your background research. Cotswold Car Buyers is part of a privately owned BMW/Mini Dealer Group, a privately run business which was started in 1985. We’ll never sell your details to third-party companies and we’ll do our best to make the process smooth and hassle-free to take the stress out of selling your car.

Just enter your registration & mileage into our valuation tool bar & a price will be emailed across to you, if you are happy to proceed within a 24 hour period that will also trigger an extra £200 on top of your valuation. One of our buyers will be in touch to arrange a time that suits yourself for collection or feel free to drop into our site in Tewkesbury. All cars will have a fast appraisal & drive to make sure they are as described, then a fast payment will be made to you whilst with us with no fees applied.

A used car's valuation has a large range of factors that can affect the price at any given moment. There are obvious factors like the car's service history, previous owners, mileage and condition and whether it has been modified. We have to factor in market conditions day to day but thankfully we have retail sites eager for great cars on a daily basis. Our team has years of experience, an open mind on a fair condition and we stand on the price offered at all times.

When we come to collect your car at a mutually agreed time & place, we’ll do a quick inspection of the car to make sure it’s in the condition discussed & then make an instant payment to your bank account, no admin fees or collection fees.

To sell your car to us you need the following documentation:

  • V5 vehicle log book
  • Service history (whether digital or in a booklet)
  • Any receipts of work undertaken
  • Bank account details
  • Owner’s manuals
  • Spare Keys/Wheels Locking Nuts  (Please advise us if these are missing)
  • Finance settlement document (if any outstanding finance)
  • 2 forms of ID (one which can be a driving licence or passport, and other bank statement or utility bill showing an address that matches V5)

The valuation is a quick process taking between 1-3 minutes.

The valuation is valid for 7 days.

Once you have a valuation, we will follow up by phone & email the following day.

Cotswold Motor Group

Cotswold Motor Group Ltd is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Cotswold Motor Group Ltd to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only. We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
